Stephen is an experienced Production Designer and Supervising Art Director with twenty nine years experience in Film and Television.
Stephen's latest Production Designer credits include the award winning 'BOARDERS 3’ (BBC comedy drama), BOARDERS 2’ (BBC comedy drama) ‘CRONGTON’ (Brand new BBC comedy drama) ‘BOARDERS’ (Brand new BBC Drama) ‘GALWAD’ (Sky Arts Drama) ‘PLEBS - SOLDIERS OF ROME’ (Feature Special for ITV) ‘A MILLION DAYS’ (Feature Film) ‘THE TRICK’ (Conspiracy Thriller for BBC), ‘FFLAM’ (Thriller for S4C) ‘KEEPING FAITH III’ (Drama Series for BBC), ‘CYSWLLT’ (A Lockdown Drama Series, shot during the pandemic in 2020 for S4C) 'THE TUCKERS’ (Comedy Drama for the BBC) 'CONCRETE PLANS’ (Feature Film), 'THE MURDER OF JILL DANDO' (Drama Documentary for the BBC).
Stephen's Supervising Art Director credits include 'NORTHANGER ABBEY' (Motion Picture) over ninety episodes of ‘DOCTOR WHO’, nineteen episodes of 'TORCHWOOD’, the 'SHERLOCK' pilot, several episodes of 'The SARAH JANE ADVENTURES' and also too many Feature Films based in many countries internationally to list.
Stephen has worked up through the ranks starting as a carpenter building sets through to where he is today, this has given him extensive experience in budgeting, scheduling, crewing and the use of materials during the design and build process. Stephen is used to managing large art department and construction teams as well as external partners, such as action vehicle companies, armorers, SFX and VFX teams, whether its location or Studio based work, Stephen has lots of experience in CGI and working with Visual Effects teams to create large scale sets for whatever is needed. Stephen has travelled and worked in various countries around the world such as Bulgaria, The Isle of Mann, South Africa, Dubai, Romania and Croatia.
Stephen is a very passionate Designer working across all genres from fantasy, comedy, contemporary and sci-fi as well as light entertainment and documentaries, he thrives to give a hundred percent to each and every project and is passionate about detail and works hard to achieve the highest of standards whatever the budget.
