Katelyn Grace Reddy is a multimedia creative and a queer Filipino-Mexican adoptee from Long Island, New York. She is a third-year Media Arts Production student at Emerson College and has gained experience as a filmmaker and curator. She also serves as Co-Executive Chair of Asian Students In Alliance (ASIA), a student union. Katelyn is currently working at the Boston Asian American Film Festival (BAAFF) as an Engagement Assistant where she supports the Engagement Director with administrative workflow including evaluating films for programming and serving as liaison in maintaining relationships and planning events with CineFest Latino Boston Film Festival, Roxbury International Film Festival, ArtsEmerson, and local BIPOC communities to share intercultural experiences. Previously, Katelyn has worked as a Gallery Assistant at Emerson Contemporary where she supported the Curator-In-Residence with curating exhibitions, and in 2020 she worked as an Assistant Instructor at Ryu’s Martial Arts, assisting the Head Instructors in teaching taekwondo to K-12 students. Her most recent short film PLUS 1S, a queer romantic-comedy, had its world premiere at Roxbury International Film Festival in June 2023. Through multimedia in community and creative spaces, Katelyn works to create opportunities for the often-overlooked voices of intersectional and underrepresented communities. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and visiting art exhibitions. Her favorite musical artist is the band BTS, due to their introspective lyricism on complex topics like overload burnout and social competence, and her favorite visual artist is Wassily Kandinsky, due to his intuitive expressions of the human condition through colors, shapes, and abstract patterns.
