To whom it may concern: Having worked with Charlie several times over several years, I am very pleased to recommend him as a bright, promising young talent well suited to running (and other) work in Film & TV. He has proven his worth to me multiple times with his punctuality, hard work, attention to detail and diligence whilst on set. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for more film work, or to work with my many colleagues in the Location Department. Yours sincerely, Jamie Lindsay. 02.11.23
To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to recommend Charlie Budden for employment. I have known Charlie for 6 years in my capacity as a director in Singapore. He has worked with me as a 3rd assistant director and mentee on a government short film PSA (public service announcement video) I wrote and directed. He showed much diligence, proactivity and also excellent teamwork skills during his time working on set. He was always punctual and available to assist me as well as other departments in need of support. For example, he assisted the costume department on set to help organise a smooth transition with wardrobe changes for the talent. Charlie was well liked on set and through his own initiative he also took some beautiful BTS photos in his spare time which I treasure. Charlie is a delight to work with and will be a big asset to any production he is on for his congenial nature and his responsible, hardworking attitude. I've also had the pleasure to see some of Charlie's short films and find that he has a keen eye and mind for the bespoke story and character with a detail for art and cinematography. I admire his drive and commitment in continuing to produce his own projects alongside working in the industry. If I can be of any further assistance, or provide you with any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at the email address listed below. Yours Sincerely, Li Lin Wee. 27.07.23
To whom it may concern: Charlie Budden embarked upon and completed four short films looking at ‘life on the inside of an international design agency’ at Design Bridge and Partners. His ‘fly on the wall’ documentary shorts beautifully captured the warmth, the rituals, the relationships and life generally inside a creative agency. Charlie travelled to New York, London, Amsterdam and Singapore with his equipment and spent a week in each studio observing the business with camera in hand to record everything from meetings, presentations, lunch breaks, parties and company meetings. He then edited his footage into several crisp and engaging one-minute narratives built around different themes from time & deadlines to refresh & cups of tea! Charlie was a joy to collaborate with. Deeply observant with a keen ability to interpret the cultural dynamic of the agency and bring it to life through film. He is calm, composed and diligent in his work with the flexibility to take on feedback, while possessing a strong creative integrity that he communicates with clarity and confidence. His capture of Design Bridge & Partners demanded making an instant connection with a great diversity of people across studios and geographies which he did with maturity and congeniality beyond his years. I would absolutely recommend Charlie to any future production and would be happy to help if you need any further information. Yours sincerely, Tim Siro. 08.08.23
