A Production Company run a work experience scheme offering candidates the opportunity to learn from experienced producers and exposure to working on scripted and/or documentary feature films, short films, and television.
This work experience placement will give candidates the opportunity to learn about:
- Script reading and creating script reports
- Research for scripted and documentary projects
- Creating pitch materials e.g. film treatments
- The day to day running of a production company
- Depending on the time of year there might be an opportunity for the candidate to assist with raising film funding and assisting on film sets
Throughout the placement the producer and candidate will have weekly meetings to ensure the candidate feels confident and is enjoying the placement.
The right candidate will see the role as an opportunity to learn and develop.
The placement hours are very flexible, we want to provide candidates with a placement that best suits them. We will always aim to shape the placement around what area of film the candidate wants to work in. For example, if the candidate is more interested in working in documentary feature films, we would focus their tasks around our documentary film slate when possible.
The Production Company regularly offer opportunities to My First Job in Film members and this is a highly recommended opportunity.
