Our media makeup course has been designed to give you a thorough introduction to makeup and hair to suit the needs of today’s media industry. The course covers all the vital skills required to create a range of professional looks including media presenter, red carpet events and male grooming looks.

During our course, you will learn how to master professional hairstyling techniques using heated rollers, tongs, straighteners and blow dryers, and how to apply hair pieces and clip-in extensions. You will also study the correct use of products and tools, facial anatomy and the principles of shading and highlighting for a wide range of media roles, including makeup for different skin tones, and young and mature skin. Health and safety practices will also be a very important part of this course. Throughout this 3 week course, you will be able to view all your work on a monitor under studio lighting conditions, and you will be assessed on all skills, from application techniques to creativity.

At the end of the 3-week short course, you will have learned the makeup and hair techniques to successfully work on media presenters in TV, film, and events. You will also have gained experience putting together finished looks under different lighting conditions.
