During our Applied Screenwriting Diploma Course, projects that students complete will be produced and developed by YAFTA Film & TV Production diploma students and YAFTA Acting for Screen diploma students. This is a unique experience which isn’t offered by any other screenwriting course in the North of the UK. The experience is invaluable in the development of screenwriting skills because much of your learning will happen through the process of seeing your script being brought to life.
This holistic approach to training at YAFTA gives students a realistic idea of how your role as screenwriter fits within the wider team of creatives working on a production and will prepare you for working as a screenwriter in the film & TV industry. To provide networking opportunities with industry professionals currently working in mainstream film & TV. To provide students with practical experience of working within a film & TV production team. To teach students the technical and practical aspects of screenwriting to enable them to start gaining work as screenwriters in the film & television industry. For those at beginner level and there are no age restrictions. For those who wish to pursue careers as screenwriters. If English is not your first language you must possess a good level of written English language ability. Students must be computer literate and have access to a laptop or computer throughout the course.
