Our Undergraduate degree in Practical Filmmaking stresses the importance of collaboration, giving you plenty of time to develop into an invaluable crew member. You’ll develop specialisms in directing, producing, cinematography, editing, sound and assistant directing, and get comfortable telling your stories through a camera.

With small class sizes, you’ll get plenty of hands-on experience, and you can book out our industry-standard equipment to make your own extracurricular projects. (Some of our students have even won awards doing just that!)

Taught through lectures, seminars and technical workshops, the course is led by people who continue to work in the industry. There’s no-one better to show you the ropes.

The course includes study of film business, contemporary TV formats, working for emerging platforms like games and VR, and insight into documentaries, supported through our connection to documentary funders Bertha Foundation.
