My name is Harry, I am 22 years old and I live in Hampshire, in the UK. Videography, camera work and film have been my passions for most of my life, and it's been something I've wanted to direct my career towards since I've been able to. The first time I studied anything related to media was in secondary school - I opted for the Media Studies GCSE and fell in love with the practical aspects. From there, I decided to enrol in a Digital Media Production course at my college and passed with the highest achievable mark and this is where I decided, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. However, this didn't all start from education. When I was 11, I started up my own YouTube channel where I would make random, unscripted content that I thought would be fun, edited it and published it for a small group of my friends to see. I didn't blow up and become a viral phenomenon, but that didn't matter to me. I loved every aspect of the video production process and continued to create videos for many years after. Fast forward to today, that passion has only grown. I am about to graduate in Film and Television Production and will go on in my career to eventually become a Camera Operator in the industry. I have invested my own money into equipment in order to take videos and create content wherever I go. I recently embarked on a 10 month 'Study Abroad' year as part of my degree where I travelled all around Canada with a base in Montreal. I took my camera everywhere with me, on every adventure and every bit of travelling and once the trip concluded, I edited all of the shots I had into a 3 minute montage of all of the best parts of the year to share with friends and family. Video is just as much a form of communication for me as words. I have a mindset, that consistently taking initiative can lead to so many opportunities, and therefore I have messaged local production agencies, industry professionals and likeminded individuals to propel my career forwards as much as possible.
Personality-wise, I am friendly, kind and I love to meet new people. I embrace every friendship and socialising is one of my strongest suits. The film industry is tough, and it's an art-form. It takes a lot of strength and passion to create a successful piece of art, and that's what I want to do.
As for my hobbies, I am a Grade 8 level Pianist, as I have played the piano since 2009. I have performed in front of large audiences, with my local orchestra, alongside smaller audiences and venues for pleasure. I have an interest in Tennis and attended a local tennis club for 4 years between the ages of 12 and 16.
I take pride in being reliable, and punctual and always on time. If someone tells me to arrive at 8am, I will be there at 7:30am without fail. I do not view any task as too much for me, and if that task turns out to be something I am not familiar with, I will make every attempt to learn the material/skills required to do that, so that I do not let people down. I am someone who deeply cares about people and I understand that film is a collaborative effort and that a genuine interest in your work is the most important thing.
