Like many, I didn’t know what kind of person I would be when I reached adulthood. The vision I had known my whole life, the one curated by my Muslim parents, didn’t feel right. They wanted me to become a doctor, as well as marry a beautiful woman and eventually have children. When I told them at 16 that I wanted to pursue a BTEC in Creative Media and drop my science A-levels, let’s just say they weren’t pleased… and let’s not even start with me coming out as gay a year later… But I have always loved being creative. Whether it was creating little film projects with my dad’s old mobile with my Action Men, or uploading “Let’s Play” videos on YouTube (which have now all been unlisted out of shame) I loved making things. I would say this decision to go to college was the domino effect of who I am as a person today. It introduced me into a world of creativity, I opened up a lot more to the people around me (I was horribly shy and quiet growing up) and also helped me find another creative passion of mine, makeup. Today, I balance work with exploring a lot of different forms of media. Whether it is gaming, watching films, or just reading a good book! I have also found my love of editing has led me back into creating content on YouTube, this time with things I actually want to say, instead of a teenager trying to find YouTube fame through a gaming channel… I will always strive for more, but I am a lot more content with how my life is currently, and I think a 15-year-old Janzeib would be proud.

Love Your Local Market - Skipton Market Documentary

This was a documentary that we submitted to Love Your Local Market '17. LYLM is a campaign that brings more attention to towns and their rich history with markets. While we didn't win, the organisation has gone on to use our material in a lot of their promotional videos.I recorded, as well as edited a lot of the video.
