Costume Trainee / Assistant
I'm a soon-to-be graduate from MA Costume Design for Performance at London College of Fashion. I have worked on a range of projects that familiarised me with fabric manipulation, machine and hand embroidery, hand knitting, and working with unconventional 3D materials. I have also made and adapted patterns for each project, drafting from scratch as well as working with blocks. These patterns ranged from conventional to completely abstract, challenging me to problem-solve how to construct durable 3D shapes.
Prior to my MA, I costumed both smaller and larger student productions during my undergrad. For this I would take on the roles of dresser as well as designer and maker, performing backstage alterations when necessary during each run.
I am a fast and enthusiastic learner and have always enjoyed being able to assist others as well as carry out projects under my own steam. Through my MA I have learned to be a more innovative maker and I would like to continue to gain skills while surrounded and inspired by a team.
