I'm a practical individual that enjoys having something to do. I have had various jobs, which have given me different skills and experiences. I enjoy a challenge and learning new things. I also like to be of help to people and get things done. Over the last few years I had to overcome bad injuries to myself, which partly included learning how to walk on my right leg again. In my spare time I love to read, make and paint models, fly fish when I can, work on my old Land Rover, volunteer on board the Steam Tug Challenge, play video games, make videos, do family research and research for Challenge, volunteer as staff with the Air Cadets and design and resin print models and model parts. In my teenage years I was a member of the Air Training Corps, where I reached the rank of sergeant. During this time I went on many camps and courses. I was a marksman, I qualified to teach lessons, taught fieldcraft and ran our squadrons air recognition team, which won our wing competition three years in a row, with myself winning best overall. I have since continued as staff and have run courses, helped run camps, continued to teach subjects to the cadets and have been responsible for such things as unit health and safety. On Challenge I carry out restoration work, do historical research, often take the lead on deck work during mooring and un-mooring, operate the powerful triple expansion steam engine when underway and make videos for the YouTube Channel.
