Hi there! I'm Sienna Hammond, a third year English Literature student at the University of Edinburgh. I have always loved documentaries and film but hoped to show some of my interests in this section that extend beyond media that have influenced my perspective as a storyteller. I have always been deeply moved by religion and spiritual beliefs, seeing first-hand how faith became a cornerstone for my family during difficult times. Music has been another profound influence in my life; I’ve played the piano and violin since childhood and have always found performing in orchestras as deeply emotional experiences, connecting people through one shared rhythm and energy like a dance. Music has served as both “post-cards” to times in my life and I see in film its ability to tell the story in and of itself. I find renewal through running, cooking, and I try to take myself out on a weekly solo adventures into nature, reminding myself to acknowledge the world around me which I’m definitely guilty of forgetting. And of course, I love, and spend most of my time, reading. I can proudly say that I enjoy my English Literature course at University wholeheartedly, constantly in conversation with the most inspiring teachers as I grow to understand the world and myself through beautifully written word. I have a list of novels that I would love to one day turn into film, and I almost always remember a book by the scenes I had imagined as I was reading it.
