'I’m an experienced marketeer based in South West London embarking on an invigorating career change into the film industry. I’ve always had a profound interest for film and storytelling, studying both media and drama up until my a-levels. I’m now looking to utilise the skills I acquired throughout my career and bring value to production sets. \n\nComing from a first generation immigrant household, as well as a poor neighbourhood, I was advised to go along the more ‘secure’ career route. Wanting to make my parents sacrifices worth their struggles, I went on to study marketing at university followed by a successful career holding positions at some of the UKs best known and reputable companies including, Pearson Education, The Financial Times (based in New York for a year), and reed.co.uk.\n\nExtremely grateful for the skills and experiences I gained, from moving out to New York to manage partnerships and execute US focused campaigns to developing annual communication plans and strategies I knew that my creativity, energy and obsessive drive needed to be directed to another place other than a paycheque and your regular 9-5. \n\nAfter taking a career break to travel, I realised working in film and being on set is something I had to try. \n\nSince coming back from my travels in 2019, I have been working as a cocktail waiter at a 5*Hotel Bar in the heart of Piccadilly Circus, whilst trying to build up my knowledge and experience on film related projects. Covid, as devastating as it has been, has provided me with the opportunity and time to delve back deeper into the world of film through my own curriculum. \n\nI had my first taste of being on set at the end of 2020 whereby I acted as a 1st AD on an independent short due to release in 2021. My proactive approach in the pre-production stage, and clear communication as well as good energy on set (as feedback by the director, yes, I’ve kept the voice note), has only made me more driven to contribute my skills towards amazing projects in 2021 whilst learning from talented creatives in the field.\n\n Since then, I have just come off set as 1st AD for a short film called 'Legacy' and am prepping for two more 1st ADing gigs at the end of May. \n\nCheck out my YouTube channel for some of the content I've been working on, including a short dance narrative I directed in the run up to the 3rd lockdown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNPEDSF1j6I.
