I am now freelancing as Producer, working on the post-production of a short film and on the development of other two short films. In addition, I work as Development and Producer Assistant for an Italian and British film production company, called Tico Film. Being Italian and working for such company, I had the chance to grow my network in both countries and know both markets. My duties are spread on all Tico’s projects and I assist the producer on all the phases of development, finance, production and distribution. As such, I keep the conversation with writers, prepare press kit and dossiers that include budget and treatment for commissioning editors, submit applications for national and international grants and finally I take care of our social media channels. At the same time, I have been selected for an international workshop for emergent producers, called MAIA workshop that I have been following in the last 6 months. Before that, I worked for 8 months as Sales and Marketing trainee at Film Constellation, worldwide film sales agency. During this time, I had the chance to follow closely its growth, having access to confidential information and to be assigned to cover different roles: - My role as executive assistant to the CEO gave me the privilege to get to know many people in the industry, maintaining daily relationships with clients such as directors, producers, creative agencies and distributors all over the world. This gives me the confidence, the network and the communication skills that the position of BBC commissioning Coordinator requires. - Secondly, my role as office manager and accountant has strengthened even more my organisational and Microsoft Office package skills. A great responsibility in terms of meeting deadlines came with it, since I had to track incoming and outgoing payments, generate sales invoices for festivals and distribution companies, and manage the funding application to UK and European Film bodies (UK Export Group, European Film Promotion). - Thirdly, in addition to managing all the markets registration and meetings booking, I was in charge of all the festivals’ bookings for our line-up films. This duty was particularly interesting because I had to negotiate for a fee most of the time. - Lastly, one of my duties at Film Constellation was to supervise our Social Media channels and to participate into the creative process, providing the CEO with script coverages and screenings reports in preparation for our acquisitions meetings. In addition, my roles as intern at the Barbican Cinema and as Intern at the FVG Audiovisual Fund equipped me with a wide set of transferable skills that I can use in different fields: I am extremely organised, I have very strong administration skills, I have experience both in film production and distribution, I have good communication and events management skills, I have knowledge of the commissioning cycle, I know how to handle a heavy workload and work on different projects at the same time, I am eager to learn and I proved to be a fast learner, I have a positive attitude towards co-workers and this makes me a good team player. I enjoy working also on set and I have the right skills to work as line producer and production manager.
