André Bazin said that film is capable of capturing reality, something that is undoubtedly true and, for me, forms the foundation of my passion for film. I believe that our world is constructed upon stories, which explains our affinity for them. And here stems the drive I have for being part of the industry and community of people who are in the business of telling stories. I heard stories as a child, later as a teenager, and even now I delight in experiencing exciting and surprising narratives. They have shown me that I am not alone, that there are other people fearing and doubting and questioning their life or their existence. This is what, I believe, forms the essence of storytelling and its appeal on people. And what better way to tell stories than the vivid medium of film? Since I have first set my hands on a video camera, some seventeen years ago, I have been enticed and fascinated by it, growing more and more fascinated and entrapped by its nature. I have since been constantly hungry for stories, learning from them, living through them, and yearning to be part of telling them.
