My desire to write is driven by my fascination of different lives intertwining; what happens when, as Adele put it, two worlds collide. I went on a Euro trip a few years ago with my absolute opposite (a guy whose hero is Charles Bronson) who is an undefeated boxer, MMA fighter and depending on who you’re talking to, a gruff anti-hero who’s got a heart deep down, or an absolute Villain who keeps pretending he’s going to shoot me with a harpoon gun … I believe he’s an exciting shade of grey. I am currently a street fundraiser in central London for a noble Human Rights cause. As you can imagine, I smile a lot. This invites all kinds of human to interact with me. In Shepherds Bush, an 82 year old man offered me a Video 8 Super Pro film camera that he hadn’t used in years. After work, we swapped stories over a pint and he gave me this once £3000 camera after I told him my goal to be a filmmaker. Armored only with the skills of rapport, I learn, question and offer, on the pursuit to find where we identify together.
